Get Set to Eat Fresh is a brand new Get Set programme created in partnership with the British Olympic Association and Aldi.
A host of free and exciting activities, will encourage 7-14 year-olds to learn about the importance of eating healthily and get them cooking fresh and nutritious meals. To help bring the programme to life and spread the Get Set to Eat Fresh word, Aldi has selected six Team GB Athlete Ambassadors.
Throughout the programme, students will discover more about Team GB athletes, including studying their nutritional needs and putting together meal suggestions for their local Team GB heroes.
Free curriculum-linked resources
The programme’s resources fall under three strands:
- Exploring Food with Team GB focuses on the importance of having a balanced diet and how it can help young people lead healthy, active lifestyles.
- Cook for a Homegrown Hero helps young people to understand how athletes plan their food for winning performances and cook healthy snacks and meals for athletes and themselves.
- Celebration of Food (launching in 2016) invites young people to celebrate food from around the world and to host an event during Celebration of Food week.
There are lots of exclusive prizes up for grabs throughout the year, including the chance to win a school visit from a Team GB athlete. To take part, tell us what you’re up to by sharing a showcase on the Get Set to Eat Fresh website.
